LIFE AS WE TAKE IT!!

Life is bliss when you don’t have to do anything and everything just falls on your lap!
But it never ends up that way, does it? Maybe in the case of a millionaire’s son it might be true! But most of us aren’t that lucky, are we? We live in a world (let us stick to smaller distance because I haven’t been far enough to say!) where most of us are let us say not born with a silver platter. So I think it is safe to say that we all have to work for what we want.
Thus, here we are, not very blessed souls, but yet most of us manage to take things pretty lightly. In fact we human souls take everything around us for granted. God gave us land, (assuming we forget that land already existed and we actually evolved into it) so that we can use it to make our lives a little easier. But I think we want things easier than it is! God provided us land to live on! And we would rather throw around things on it because it is just too difficult to keep it organized and to keep it clean! Isn’t it much simpler to throw stuff that you don’t need right where you are standing rather than finding the darn dustbin? God brought us into the world to live and let others live, but doesn’t it become difficult for us to do things thinking not just of ourselves but also of the people around us. It is probably easy to steal money (assuming one is an expert at it) and it is also very easy to take what others deserve. But is it that easy to work for what you need and want. If we do that we would actually deserve what we get. So if we actually work hard enough and not lay back, things might not go easy, but at the end of it I am sure anyone would feel the self satisfaction. Things might look difficult from where we stand, but if we start with something, it would become exhilarating. It might be very difficult to achieve something and we might get the urge to quit at many instances, but the feeling we get when we would achieve it, would probably be out of the world.
A couple of days ago, I thought about Mr. Tenzing and Sir Hillary. They were the ones who first reached the top of the Mount Everest, by the way. The wonder, for me was the amount of strength, both mental and physical, they would have had. The thought made me wonder as to why they would even want to climb up a mountain in the first place. That was a great example of passion. Now let us look at some live examples.
There are two people I don’t want to fail to mention. One is Mr. Azim Premji. He is a well known entrepreneur and the founder of Wipro. A lot of people might not know this, but he had to leave his education in Stanford mid-way as he had to return to India because of his father’s death. His father was a wealthy business man. And, after his death, Mr. Premji had to join his father’s business. He joined his father’s oil company, “Wipro” with the vision to develop an organization on a foundation of values. He developed it into a well known software company today, through the times of the massive computer revolution. He saw that there was a wide range of opportunities in the field of Information Technology and took advantage of it (isn’t that smart?). He is now the 3rd richest man in India and the 36th richest in the world. That, I thought was a really good example of determination (and good business, of course).
The second person is Dr. Shah Faisal. He is one guy who personally inspired me.
He is a Kashmiri. He lost his father in a gunshot about 10 years ago. His mother was left alone with three children to take care of. Dr. Faisal was determined even at a young age. He topped his 10th examination just to join the Srinagar Medical College. He graduated as a doctor, but didn’t just stop there. He wanted to serve the state and so, he wrote the IAS examination and topped even in that. Today, he is an active member of RTI movement in Jammu and Kashmir. He is a stroke of brilliance and a really good orator. He can truly inspire you with his words. And to imagine, he is only 29. This shows how a person’s interest and determination can do so much in their life. It shows there’s no limit to what you want to do, irrespective of age and situations.
People look at a person, they say, he/she is born to shine. I think they aren’t born to do anything. Everything they do, they learn to do it, they do it because they want to do it, and they are strong enough in mind to finish what they started at. So, at the end of the day (I hope you aren’t thinking, finally!) it isn’t that you can’t do something, anyone can do anything but they just need to be determined and need to want it hard enough and should be strong enough not to give up and reach the end of it. (But that’s just meJ ).

With or Without you!

The question here to raise is can we or can we not live without the various forms of technology we have come across? In olden days, the so called days of under development, there were many social drawbacks which would make us resent living then. But then again it might seem so to us because we are addicted to this world of comfort. Yes, addicted! I don't think any of us could live in another time with ease. We would not fit in there for the simple need of technology and machines to do our work. As to the issue of social drawback, we have seen no development in it overall. Yes, there is a decrease in discrimination based on castes and gender but then again, there is a lateral increase in discrimination based on money and power making no difference in the world then, and now.
I think we have established that the social improvements are negligible. Now, back to the point of technology. Is it good for humans or not. Yes, it does make life easier. Yes, it is like a pot of gold and yes, the development we all require is all somehow related to the different types of technology humans come up with.
But it is causing so much damage in small scale and large scale. The production of computers and cellular phones exploit and deteriorates a huge percentage of resources. This implies for all different kinds of machines too. The simple use of cell phones and computers and televisions etc., emits radiation. It is harmful enough to cause cancer. That is why the direction of development, so far proving itself a boon, is starting to look like a bane.
We, humans find comfort in them and have been cherishing them so far but we have now come to realize that this, while making things easier for us, is also leading to the destruction of resources, environment and life, starting from tigers, one day leading to the destruction of human species itself but yet, we are addicted to it and henceforth, cannot make changes in its use, unless there is a complete shift in culture as to seeing the term "Development".

Love

Ever since we were young, the most common thing we have heard of is love. In this world of mass information, if there is one thing that every person has heard of, that is love. We grow up listening to various types of love stories, watching movies about it and reading about it. But do we really know what it is???
This is not just it. There is no such feeling which we can actually define, whether it is happiness or sadness. But the thing is, we normally know the reason why we are happy,sad,angry or anything. But no one can tell why we feel love. Is it permanent?? People say that true love is permanent. But is the fact that the feeling stays the rest of your life true? We all know that feelings are not permanent. Feelings change with time. I suppose, so does love. But why do some people say that love never dies??
Every one of us feel love for so many people around us. We love our mom, dad, siblings, friends and spouse and girlfriend/boyfriend. Sometimes we love someone because we have no other choice. Sometimes we have the choice. So when we have this choice, do we actually love all of them??
I am not going to go for a massive explanation here, for I don't know what it is either. My chain of thoughts lead me to a few beliefs about it.
It is well heard that love is the absence of hatred. Maybe it is the absence of hatred. For one cannot forever stay in what they define as "love". Maybe we love everyone. Maybe its just that, like any other emotion, it highlights itself or vanishes, according to the course of happenings around that person.
I also believe that love is present where there is respect. Maybe you don't hate a person, but doesn't mean that you feel affection towards them. Love has to be in a place with no hatred, with respect and affection. You can love a person only if the flaws in them are not visible to you and the good things about them are magnified to you. So, if this state of things are permanent, you can call it true love, no matter who the person may be, your father,mother,sibling or anyone, as it'll stay forever.
